Managing People Does Not Have to Suck

Remember the day that you became a manager?  And then you had to take care of people on top of doing all the tasks, activities and deliverables your bosses wanted.  The biggest challenge in anyone’s career is making that change from individual contributor to manager.  And it can be a very big change.  An article by Jason Fell in the Entrepreneur really caught my eye regarding insights you wish someone would have given you, the day you became a people manager.  The three insights were: -

  • You are not a babysitter
  • Expectations are everything
  • Every day feels like Saturday
