We delegate based on personality



How do you delegate?  To the person or team, that has the best skills?  Or to the person who you feel is most likely to get the work done?  In a recent article by Gary Wyles a fascinating theory of personality types and how that impacts who we delegate work.  In this article, posted by HRZone there are some interesting insights into the kinds of personalities using Festo’s 3-Dimensions of Employee Engagement.  The article includes points such as: -

"Our first choice for delegation will be to pass on tasks to our Champions and Ambassadors."

And the least likely to be delegated to are the Actively Disengaged Thieves and Saboteurs.
