Baby Pygmy Hippo Makes a Splash at Sydney's Taronga Zoo

Did you know that Pygmy Hippo's were on the endangered species list?  It is estimated that there are approximately 2000 to 3000 left in the world, primarily in West Africa.  An endangered female baby pygmy hippo makes her public debut at the Sydney zoo under the watchful eye of her mother and keepers. The calf was born to first-time parents Fergus and Kambiri on 21 February.  She is definitely cute and a great example of the work that the Taronga Zoo is doing to help protect endangered species, pygmy hippos and more.  A cute video clip of the new baby curtsey of the Guardian.
